The Googie Credenza Clock is inspired by the architecture, patterns, and playful shapes of mid century design. I make each one individually in my Los Angeles shop using solid hardwoods, figured woods, and detailed inlays made from exotic species including purpleheart, bloodwood, Osage, and other woods from around the world.
I love the natural range of color these woods provide. The reds, purples, yellows, and warm earth tones in the design all come from the wood itself, giving the inlay its color and character while keeping the piece rooted in traditional woodworking.
The long, low profile was designed with a classic mid century credenza in mind. Finished in lacquer, it is part clock, part sculpture, and a piece of functional art made for collectors and thoughtfully designed interiors. More than simply a timepiece, it is a lasting piece of American craft, individually built by me in Los Angeles.
